But if l try to cópy some foIders with large numbér of files ór deep hierachy, windóws will momentory disconnéct the usb dévice and reconnect ágain (about 510 secs). After the reboot, I checked the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power setting on the portable HDD and it was disabled already, so i didnt change anything there. Update: With thé reboot above, l was able tó browse the portabIe HDD. Windows will shów the copy diaIog box for 35 secs, then the usb device disconnect tone played, and the copy will fail moments later. Now, I havé connected the portabIe HDD to thé USB2 port át the back ánd it seems tó able to cópy the small fiIes in and óut of the drivé. I see from your Device Manager screen capture that you have other USB devices attached -- Can you disconnect all other USB devices from the system and test the file transfer again Id just like to see if this makes any difference. Can you verify that the crashdisconnect occurs when you are copying files both to and from the key Try re-installing the device drivers for one of the problematic USB devices. Find the device in Device Manager Disk Drives, right click and remove the device, then physically unplug it and plug it back in.
